Sun Academic Initiative
The Sun Academic Initiative is a program designed to create a collaborative relationship between Sun and academic institutions. Courses delivered through this program will introduce students to Sun Microsystems technologies, prepare them for industry-leading certifications, and equip them with marketable IT job skills.

Program Information
Eligibility
The following institutions are eligible to participate in the Sun Academic Initiative Program:
- Non-profit academic institutions worldwide
- K-12 schools and districts
- Universities and colleges
- Graduate schools
- Not-for-profit associations
- Federal and state ministries of education
Requirements
- Complete application/selection process
- Instructors must be authorized by Sun
- Institutions must purchase one student kit per student taught
- Institutions may teach a maximum of 12 hours per course per week
